Start with the promised next step
After an application, explain how the customer will learn its status and where to get help. Use confirmed information from the carrier; a submitted form is not proof of active coverage. Record any unresolved questions and route issues to the appropriate service team rather than guessing about coverage.
Keep a useful service history
In your approved client system, record the date, reason for contact, resolution and next agreed action. Keep sales notes separate from sensitive application details where required by your organization’s controls. A useful history lets the next agent understand the situation without asking the customer to repeat everything.
Offer a review for a real reason
A customer question, an upcoming annual review or a reported change in circumstances can justify a service conversation when contact is permitted. Ask what they want reviewed. A review is not a presumption that the customer should change plans or buy an additional product.
Measure service alongside sales
Track unresolved requests, time to resolution, kept appointments and confirmed retention outcomes. A sale followed by unresolved confusion is not a complete success. Review the reasons customers leave and identify which problems your preparation or service process could have prevented.
